Thermo cam shows inside crater of Costa Rica volcano during eruption
The Turrialba Volcano has erupted again yesterday (2 November) ejecting a cloud of volcanic ash and rocks from its crater around 30 miles east of Costa Rica’s capital, San Jose.
The National University’s Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI), who filmed the volcano with a thermographic camera, reported that rocks weighing up to 2.2 pounds were found near the crater following the latest cycle of eruptions from the active volcano.
Costa Rican officials have put a 1.2 mile safety cordon around the volcano, reported the Tico Times.
